What Is He Trying to Say to You with Roses?

26 08 2009

Flowers are the perfect compliment to any occasion and can make almost any day more memorable. But the most special flower of all is by the rose. This particular flower is very elegant and beautiful and can convey a number of different messages depending on the color. Not every flower has as much power and can evoke as much emotion as a dozen roses. Whether you are sending roses for an anniversary, birthday or a reminder of romance, pick your bouquet wisely and remember that the thought will always come through the beauty of the roses.

Besides their color, the arrangement of flowers also makes a statement. If a woman receives a bouquet of long-stemmed red roses, she knows someone is romantically interested. However, the same number of blossoms can be grouped in a vase or other container and mean congratulations. Roses can make a centerpiece, the perfect gift for a co-worker’s promotion, or a graduation gift. Florists can make a few changes or alter a vase and change the entire feel of the arrangement.

For a more friendly situation, yellow is the traditional color. If you choose to be a little bit more modern, people sometimes mix yellow, orange, and pink roses together. This color mixture also creates a very fresh and spring like feeling that if often perfect for Mother’s Day or a simple “Thinking of You” arrangement. To create a more fun and whimsical arrangement, you can certainly pair yellow and orange roses in a glass vase and fill the vase with either orange and yellow glass stones or even colored candies.

Always remember though, when you receive your flowers, a person does not always mean to convey anything except they were thinking of you. Reading meaning into a gift, while fun, can be a disaster if you think they are sorry for something they have not done. You could be interpreting something into your bouquet that was not meant to be conveyed by the giver. Men especially might not be aware of the meaning behind the roses he sent, so just assume for your sanity, that he just meant to say “I Love You” and nothing else. Unless he really does owe you an apology, be gracious and believe it. All is well that ends well. Or, ends with a beautiful bouquet of the luscious sweet fragrance of the legendary Red Roses of Love.
