Short dress – keen on style
25 06 2010To be quite honest, the short dress may just as well be a mini skirt in disguise because there really is not much difference in the two attire in any way. The largest difference is that with a mini-dress or short dress you do not have to stress about finding a matching top to wear with it!
Short dresses are very good for the summer, though as they can be light, elaborate, short in length and keen on style. One style of short dress is the doll dress which is a short dress with an empire gut. An empire gut is a waistline that cuts across the body horizontally just below the bust rather than in line with the woman’s waist.
This sort of belly gives a longer, slender look and permits the fabric of the dress to drape a load more flattering than the usual line. Take care with the length of the dress in accordance to your age as the shorter the hemline the less flattering it is for the older lady.
Good materials for short dresses are taffeta, chiffon, satin and silk giving the dress a definite feel of playfulness, sexiness and fun.
