Duplicate content means you have the same content on more than one URLthat is, on more than one web address. When I mention same content, I mean only text; pictures or graphics don’t mean anything in this context. Imagine you have a text of 200 words at the following web address: xxxx.com/page1 and also on xxxx.com/page14, you may have different pictures on those two pages, but the search engines cannot read these, so they will see the pages as being identical.

Huge Problem for Search Engines
This is a huge problem for the search engines. First of all, having two website addresses with the exact same content is also duplicate content. Example: You have the following web addresses; cheap-coffemachines.eu and cheap-coffemachines.com, if both web addresses are returning the same content, then you are in big trouble. Their English website, placed on a .com domain, had some amazing rankings in the search engines while their Danish website, placed on a .dk domain was not visible in the search engines. Several “experts” looked at this, but nothing worked. We identified a problem with duplicate content; it took their web agency one hour to solve the problem. A week later their Danish website ranked #1 on Google using the primary keywords. Previously their ranking was on page 42 with the exact same words. This is how devastating duplicate content can be for your business!
