Carl Zeiss NTS Wins Health and Safety Award

A nanotechnology establishment received recognition for its outstanding health and safety programmes.
Carl Zeiss NTS, a company in Cambridge secured the IOSH health and safety award lately, at the Best Factory Awards 2011, for its concern for employees, splendid event records and commitment to safety and health.
IOSH highly praised the establishment for sustaining the safety, wellness and health of employees as their most important business plan; though they had a hectic time with the business increasing twice as much, of what it was in 2009.
A part of the German group Carl Zeiss, the establishment is a subdivision of the global organisations semiconductor technology division. Managing director of Carl Zeiss NTS, Bob Taylor, said they are very pleased for the appreciation of their safety and health record by the IOSH at the Best Factory Awards.
He said that safety and health is a key element of their occupation. They toil hard for achieving a protected workplace for their employees. As a measure of their health and safety campaign, they enthusiastically endorse recording the near miss disasters. This facilitated them to check effectively, amid all the employees becoming accountable for safety and health.
The chief executive at IOSH, Rob Strange OBE gave the award and added that it was admirable to see the fair safety and health methods under practise and the gain for the company.
He finished by saying that IOSH was happy to have backed the safety and health award to a well-justified champion. The establishment has a laudable record through almost zero recordable mishaps since 2006. It is evident that the company has a sanguine viewpoint to actual danger and considers the job safety and health very earnestly.
